Christina Jeffrey has been a conservative activist since high school. Her career military father,  a native South Carolinian and Citadel Graduate and her mother, a “professional” letter-to-the editor writer about all things conservative, brought up their eight “Army brats” as Christian, anti-communist, free-enterprise, self-sufficient, loyal Americans. Reading material in the home included National Review and reports from the Heritage Foundation.

Her role model is her Dad. Now 91, she remembers him studying every night to become a professor at the University of Mississippi. There, he expected each child to earn at least a master’s. He also started a business to help others transition from the military to education jobs. In 1981 he moved the family back to SC.

Christina attended Vassar College as a freshman, but transferred to a conservative college in Texas where she could study with an outstanding conservative and libertarian faculty.

Appointed co-chairman of the University of Alabama’s student-run Emphasis Committee, she transformed it from a platform for radicals like Abbie Hoffman, who hated America, to a vehicle for pro-American speakers and brought in Phyllis Schlafly and Bill Buckley, among others. She was also elected to state-wide offices in College Republicans and Young Americans for Freedom, helped start a conservative newspaper,Veritas, was a member of the Intercollegiate Society of Individualists, and became a founding member of Eagle Forum. She was named an “Outstanding Young Woman of America” every year she was eligible.

In 1991, she earned tenure at Kennesaw State University in Georgia as an Associate Professor and began organizing conservative nonprofits – such as the watchdog group, Operation Integrity in Georgia and the Institute for the Study of Liberty at Coastal Carolina.  The latter sponsors Constitution Day events for k-12 students.

She has worked in the campaigns of conservatives starting with Barry Goldwater. Most recently she was the campaign manager for Dr. Henry Jordan’s bid for Lt. Governor in 2006. She has never been a paid political operative, but always volunteers and never asks for expense money. In 2008, she fell 123 votes short of election to the legislature. She supports Mark Sanford’s fiscally conservative principles and helped him get elected, just as she did Jim DeMint, and other local conservatives.

She has attended an evangelical Catholic Church in Greenville, SC, since 2001, co-organized the Boiling Springs Tea Party, and teaches courses where-ever she can, including Furman University. Last year she taught American Government at Wofford.

She belongs to Citizens for Efficient Government, a part of the SC Taxpayer’s Association, is President of the South Carolina Association of Scholars, and a Board member of the National Association of Scholars (NAS).  The NAS is a conservative academic organization that fights political correctness on college campuses and for high standards and the teaching of real American history and government at all levels of education. She also serves as secretary of the National Association for Gun Rights, and has a history of service to the pro-life movement.

She has good friends earned by dedicated service to the Conservative Movement and a few earned enemies on the left, notably Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, and Chuck Schumer. But she is a team player who will work well with everyone who believes in the American way of life and wants to uphold the Constitution.

She is married to Wofford Government Professor, Robert Jeffrey, who chairs her campaign. They have one child still at home, Marjorie Louise, a Wofford student.
