  • If elected, will you co-sponsor the FairTax Act (HR-25)?

  • David Kline:

I too would like to know your position on the FairTax.

  • Do you believe that conservation of our natural resources and strong environmental protection programs are conservative values?

Do you beleive the Federal Clean Water Act and Air Quality Act have served us well in improving the quality of our waters and air and protecting and improving public health?

  • I’m echoing John and David’s request for your position on being a cosponsor of HR-25?

I “Support the Candidates that Support the FairTax!”

  • Byron Conn:

I have been researching your conservative policy stances and support of the Constitution, as written. However, it is my firm belief that our country has traveled so far down the path of big government socialism that simply putting true conservatives in the legislative branch will NOT correct the systemic problems that have been injected in our system.

Our country was founded on two basic principles: freedom of religion and private property rights. Recently the US Supreme Court authorized the taking of private property for use by the 50 state supreme courts. At least in the famous Kelso case when a legislative body used the eminent domain process to take private property to enrich the coffers of the local government the process had the resemblance of being constitutional. However, in Brown V. Wash. State Legal Foundation (2003) the US Supreme takes citizens private property for the 50 states’ Supreme Courts sole use, without ANY conpensation! No body of elected leaders ever VOTED to allow this and NONE of the funds go through ANY normal government accounting oversight. Where does the Court get the power to take private property to use for the Court’s enrichment without Congressional approval? In fact, Justice Scalia states this decision changes the basic rules of the country so “that the normal rules of the Constitution protecting private property rights are suspended”.

If the ELECTED members of the Congress do NOT take control from the UNELECTED judges no amount of conservatives will succeed in restoring the US Constitution, as written. I’m looking to support a person for Congress that will restore these values.

I would like to know your views on these important issues and specifically what you intend to do, if elected, to address a Court system with unlimited and unchecked power.

If the IRS is removed and the fair tax is only tax I would support it.

  • Gene Bustard:

I am for you all the way. I lived in Georgia when you ran for Congress there. The Tea Party movement is sweeping the nation.
Thank you for your leadership. (And you have given me assurances that you support the FAIR TAX.0

  • admin:

I am very aware and concerned about out-of-control judges, and plan to introduce legislation that uses Article 3, Section 2 of the Constitution to limit the jurisdiction of the courts.

  • admin:

I have supported the Fair Tax for many years, and I have written my own bill which I intend to introduce if elected. The bill will be published in the Boiling Springs Today magazine, and I encourage you to look it up. It’s only one page! I think it is a little safer than the current fair tax plan, because it first abolishes the Internal Revenue Service. I hope to soon have it up on this website.

  • David Brooks:

What is your view on abortion and homosexual Marriage?

  • Re. the Fair Tax. The Constitution addresses taxes quite adequately. The tax code is currently fraudulently applied! First, abolish the IRS. Then let’s figure out how much money the Federal Government needs to operate within the confines of their enumerated powers.

The only way to cut spending is to stop the flow of funds. Cut off the money, then let Congress ask us for what they need. This is how the Constitution sets it up: Congress makes a request for funds, then we say yes or no. If we the people say yes, the amount is apportioned among the states so everyone pays their fair share and there is a time limit, after which the tax disappears. When Congress needs more money, they have to ask again.

Would you give you teenager unlimited funds and say, “Spend wisely!”? No. Why would we trust Congress to do any better? They certainly haven’t so far.

Re. Marriage. Congress has no right to intervene in private contracts. A marriage is a private contract. You may not like the idea of gay marriage but if you allow Congress into private contracts in one area, you will open the door to them being involved in your private contracts in other areas. Leave it alone.

The Founding Fathers kept the Constitution simple for a reason: the Federal government should not and cannot legislate morality. It has never worked in the past and leads us down a dangerous path.

  • We would love to endorse you on Liberty-Candidates.org. Will you answer the four liberty questions here:
    http://www.liberty-candidates.org/2010/02/application2010.html – thank you!!!

  • Robert Davidson:

Since the United States was able to get along just fine for nearly 140 years without an income tax, and we could again if we simply rolled back the size of our federal government to what it was just 10 years ago, why are you supporting any sort of replacement, such as the “Fair” Tax or something similar? Abolish the IRS – yes, absolutely – but please also work to abolish income taxes as well. Income taxes are a form of involuntary servitude, forcing me to labor for others.

Also, I would like to know your results from the “World’s Smallest Political Quiz”: http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html

    Thank you!

  • George Reynolds:

All excellent questions. Especially from Sally O’Boyle. But where is your response?

Taxes are at their lowest point since 1950. Republicans did absolutely nothing to secure our borders during eight years of total control. Republicans, in fact, saddled us with the Great Recession and the highest deficit in history. How do you differentiate yourself?

BTW, it was very nice meeting you today.

Cheers, and good luck “taking America Back” to the 1800’s? Or did you mean “taking back America?”

  • Selena Osteen:

I am trying to decide who to vote for in this race. I am very interested in what your position is on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. If you are against it, I would like to know if you would be willing to prove that by co-sponsoring the Parental Rights Amendment? You can learn more about this by checking out ParentalRights.org or by contacting Senator Jim DeMint’s office. As a mother of eleven children, I am particularly interested in keeping authority over my children’s upbringing out of the hands of government: international AND our federal or state governments. I’ve also noticed you haven’t responded to questions on this site lately and am very much hoping you will do so again soon.
