Vote for Christina Jeffrey on June 8th!

Bring your friends and family!

A message from Dudley Brown, Executive Director, NationalGunRights.Org:

Only one candidate for Congress supports your gun rights [Christina Jeffrey].

As a gun rights supporter, I have some good news…
…and some bad news.

In a year with so many attacks on your Second Amendment rights, I hate to give you bad news, but I feel you deserve to hear the truth.
Your Congressman, Bob Inglis, has voted rabidly anti-gun.
When the chips were down, Congressman Bob Inglis turned his back on South Carolina and voted with the D.C. gun control crowd.

The truth is, Bob Inglis is gun-banner Sarah Brady’s best friend.

Republican Christina Jeffrey has pledged to stand up for the Second Amendment and fight the gun-grabbers tooth and nail. And she’s pledged to be a leader on gun issues…Her record in support of gun rights is among the best in the nation.

Really, in this primary race for your Congressional seat, there is only one pro-gun candidate, Christina Jeffrey, and then there’s Bob Inglis and a full cast of anti-gunners.

Let Us Honor Our Fallen Heroes

Christina Jeffrey honors fallen heroesThat beautiful essayist and perennial warrior, Mark Helprin, he who was Bob Dole’s speech writer for about 30 seconds because he can’t be moderate, has a message for all of us in the news today, “On Memorial Day” (WSJ, May 29, 2010, p. A13).

Helprin’s message is a solemn call for the respect and honor a nation owes to its fallen heroes, heroes, without which, our great nation would never have been born and likely would not have survived.

In a week, that began with Obama contemplating lifting the ban on gays in the military and which he plans to end by avoiding the traditional ceremony at Arlington National Cemetary, we should think seriously about what it means to respect our military, past and present,

Per my son, who is on active duty with the Georgia National Guard, the issue of gays in the military is more a matter of logistics. Traditionally, military men are lodged together. Openly gay men and women would have to be lodged separately from the rest of the corps. That would not only change the military, in terms of military cohesion, but it would be an added expense.

However, one suspects, the issue is important to the President as a wedge to drive the nation toward a national gay rights legislation. Although there is huge resistance to the this notion, gay activists want us to think of their agenda as the new civil rights movement. The differences seem stark, but not to those determined to wrest respect for their lifestyle from a suspicious heterosexual majority.

However, the point is this: President Obama is less interested in providing leadership and support for a military that is devoted to defending the country, than he is in pushing his social agenda.

For me, for my 90 year old WWII Veteran father, for my bootstrap son, former Captain Bill Price and my deployed son, Sgt. Rick Price, and for many millions of Americans, the issue is a huge distraction from the very serious work of the military. A great nation does not play games with its defenses.

This Memorial Day, let us resolve to respect our fallen heroes, those who are serving heroically today and our future heroes by allowing them to do what is best for our country. Let’s let the military run its own day to day operations, and concentrate on providing a Constitutional Republic for it to defend.

The LEFT’S Poison is Overcome by the RIGHT Antidote

By Dean Allen, Campaign Manager: Christina Jeffrey for Congress

How to screw up a team:

Suppose you want to take a football team that has possibilities of winning a championship and really screw it up so it cannot win. Perhaps you are secretly working for the other team. How would you do it?

First, let’s identify the three most important attributes of a good football player. What attributes would you list? Perhaps, you would say an athlete needs to be in really top physical condition. So far, so good. What else? A football player needs to understand the rules of the game really well and be passionate about the game. Good again, anything else? Finally, the really superb player will have a very competitive nature and a burning desire to win the game every time.

Now I am ready to spring my great plan to screw up a football team. Not just any team either, one that has won championships in the past. How will I do it? Simple! I announce that a good football player needs to have only one of the three attributes we identified above; but not all three. That’s it. Just divide the players on the team into three groups. One group works out in the gym and is totally focused on being in really good physical condition but neglects knowledge of the game and a competitive nature. Another group is told they should read everything ever written about the rules of the game and how the game is played, but they may neglect physical conditioning and they do not need to develop a competitive nature. The final group is told merely to “be competitive” but they are not required to understand the rules of the game and don’t have to work on any diet or physical conditioning.

Now to carry out this plan, when I discuss football players, I point out that they can be divided into three different types. What type are you? Are you a physical player? Are you a competitive player? Or, are you a rules player?

Dr. Christina Jeffrey Campaigning for Congress

In this video, Republican Congressional candidate Dr. Christina Jeffrey, a professor of American Government, answers audience questions at the Westview-B Precinct meeting in Spartanburg, SC on April 8, 2010. Precinct Chairman Larry Bateman was the moderator.

Cut Their Pay and Send Them Home

In 1933, at the height of the Depression, Congress cut salaries, including their own. It’s been 87 years and finally someone, an Arizona Democrat named Ann Kirkpatrick, is proposing a 5 percent pay cut. She is doing this even though the Congress’ favorite economic theory, Keynesianism, says spending is good, and the way out of debt is more debt. Apparently Kilpatrick isn’t buying the theory anymore. Good for her!

One of the reasons members of Congress give for paying themselves nearly $200,000 salaries is the fact that they have to live in Washington D.C., where the cost of living is so expensive. This is also their excuse for having a special second-home tax exemption for themselves. When Congress increased federal salaries in the early 90’s, they sold their own huge jump in pay as “ethics reform.” Career politicians decided to give up real work and depend solely on their salaries. The argument for this? “We have to avoid conflicts of interest.”
